Last Thursday, 26th of September, Hipoges had the opportunity to attend the Investor Summit Europe 2024 organised by DDC Financial Group in the Czech capital. The event held in the heart of Prague took place specifically at the 5-star NH Collection Carlo IV Hotel.
With more than 20 countries represented among all the people attending the event, Hipoges was a Gold Sponsor of the Investor Summit Europe 2024. Key attendees from Hipoges included Rita Couto, Chief Global NPL Officer of the company as a delegate, as well as Nuno Godinho, Chief Corporate Services Officer as a speaker in one of the event’s debates.
This event is ranked as one of the most important events for those leading alternative markets, with secondary market operations, LP allocations, distressed asset investments, NPL investments, co-loans, portfolio diversification and specialised finance. In addition, the importance of ESG investing, private equity, real estate strategies and credit opportunities will be featured in the various discussions at the event.
Along with various networking moments, an ideal atmosphere was created to connect with investors and institutions from all over the world, fund managers, banks, family offices and solution providers to enjoy an environment full of targeted networking opportunities in the heart of Europe.
How was the Investor Summit Europe 2024 in Prague?
During the day, as it is tradition at DDC events, there were 1:1 meetings, which are quick 15-minute meetings to discuss specific topics of interest. Of course, the long sessions that take place during the day also create great opportunities to connect and share ideas in a more interactive way.
Without a doubt, these meetings are an excellent opportunity to connect in a relaxed atmosphere, and to establish relationships based on personality and credibility while enjoying some snacks.
The Investor Summit Europe 2024 in Prague featured a total of 7 conferences:
- Alternative Asset Allocation Models
In this first panel, there were discussions about recent success stories, the increasing accessibility and innovative trends in alternative assets, the evolution of the secondary market, as well as the outlook for the future of AAMMs in the role of portfolio diversification.
- Prospects in Real Estate Investments
During this time, the markets and sectors with the best opportunities, real estate versus equities, as well as niche opportunities with an attractive return/risk diversification profile were discussed.
- Sustainability & Impact Investing
This discussion revolved around the benefits and constraints of Green Finance and how alternative sources of finance such as green bonds, community development finance charters or impact investors can support projects that prioritise environmental and social responsibility.
- Opportunistic, specialty and Asset backed
During 45 minutes, there was debate on the differences between deal origination in specialised and asset-backed lending, versus direct lending and other parts of the market. They also discussed the growing private asset-backed investment.
- Distresses Outlooks: future of NPLs and RPLs
In this intense debate where our Chief Corporate Services Officer Nuno Godinho participated along with other speakers from companies such as Kruk, Relational, NPL Martkets and Morgan Lewis, they talked about the outlook in various markets given the reduction of NPLs and the growth of the secondary market. As such, they plan to see more RPL securitisations given advances in servicing technology, increased regulation and a more stable interest rate environment. Current opportunities for distressed investors and use of exit strategies were also mentioned.
- Private Credit
Overall, they raised macro effects such as inflation in various sectors and market reactions. They affirmed an appetite for risk and questioned the upcoming opportunities for leverage versus deleveraging.
- Real asset investing strategies
Speakers discussed investor perspectives on real estate, infrastructure and natural resources, as well as emerging trends, market dynamics and regional opportunities. They also took the opportunity to discuss risk management strategies, asset allocation considerations and portfolio diversification techniques.
In addition, fast-paced discussions covered topics such as the scrutiny of foreign investment in the EU or the environmental impact of technological innovation in transport and logistics.
Finally, the resounding success of this event was due to the great organisation of DDC Financial Group, which brought together key personalities from the sector in an ideal space full of key moments to debate, share experiences and promote networking. Therefore, for Hipoges, the presence in events of this calibre is fundamental given the multiple opportunities they offer.
