Over two days, the congress featured insightful panels on the future of the real estate servicing industry.
1. Synergies between the Public and Private Sectors: Progress, Persistent Challenges, and Opportunities
Luis Ramírez highlighted the need for a more agile and unified urban law at national level and the importance of public policies to incentivize private sector investment. He cited the Plan Vive initiative from the Community of Madrid as a successful example. Luis also addressed the importance of having a skilled, industrialised, and professional workforce to revitalise an aging housing stock and unlock stalled land and construction projects.
2. Distressed Assets & REOs in Spain: Industry Transformation and New Scenarios.
In this panel, Hugo Velez emphasised the growing need for banks to outsource recovery operations to specialised servicers. Hugo also highlighted Hipoges expertise, particularly drawing from its extensive experience with Sareb, which has positioned the company as a leader in the sector.
3. The New Era of Real Estate Servicing: Secured Portfolios and Delays in Judicial Processes
During this debate, Milena Gozalo analysed the challenges of delays in judicial processes in Spain, including delays caused by the technological gap and changing regulations. She proposed parallel strategies combining judicial and extrajudicial approaches to maximize efficiency and value for investors.
