At Hipoges, social responsibility is not just a core value but a commitment that drives us to generate a positive impact in society. This year, in the Spanish and Portuguese offices, we joined two key initiatives in the fight against cancer: Pink October, dedicated to raising awareness against breast cancer, and Blue November, focused on the prevention of prostate and testicular cancer. These dates represent an opportunity for the Hipoges family to raise awareness, show support, and act alongside those facing these diseases.
Pink October at Hipoges: Support and Awareness
On October 19th, International Breast Cancer Day, marked the beginning of solidarity actions across all Hipoges offices in Spain and Portugal. Throughout the month, various activities were organised to promote awareness and prevention, as well as to show support for those affected by this disease.
Among the initiatives highlighted, we shared internally an information dossier with essential data about breast cancer, covering topics such as risk factors, early detection, symptoms and treatment options. The aim was to provide clear and accessible information to raise awareness throughout the company.
In addition, pink ribbons from the Association Against Cancer (AECC) and Liga Portuguesa Contra o Cancro (LPCC) were distributed, a visible symbol of support that every employee could find on their desk. For those working remotely, a ribbon collection point was set up at the office receptions, ensuring that the entire Hipoges family could participate in this cause. Not only were these ribbons handed out, but employees were also encouraged to take pictures of themselves on any of the banners placed in the offices and send it to the communication department to give further visibility to this much needed cause, using the hashtags #PinkOctober .
As part of the actions carried out, an informative online talk was organised on 17th October by the AECC in Spain and on 29th October by Liga Portuguesa Contra o Cancro in Portugal, both focused on prevention and early detection of this type of cancer.
Blue November at Hipoges: Prevention in Men’s Health
In November, efforts were directed towards Blue November, a month dedicated to raising awareness of prostate and testicular cancer. In the same spirit of commitment, an information document was shared among all employees with key data about this disease, including risk factors, prevention measures, symptoms and the importance of regular medical check-ups.
On the 20th of November and on the 12th of November, in Spain and in Portugal respectively, an online talk was organised by experts from the AECC and Liga Portuguesa Contra o Cancro, covering prevention and early diagnosis, as well as resources available to those facing these diseases.
Inspired by the success of the October challenge, a similar dynamic was created for November. Accessories such as mustaches were made available in all offices, encouraging employees to take pictures of themselves on banners set up at all locations under the hashtag #WhatBringsUsTogether . These images symbolised the collective support for those fighting this disease.
These initiatives reflect our belief that solidarity and active participation are essential in the fight against any type of cancer. At Hipoges, we understand that small gestures can make a big difference, and the involvement of each person in the organisation is key to the success of campaigns such as these two.
This article was created to give greater visibility to these causes and share them on our social networks, inspiring others to join in. Our involvement with social causes such as Pink October and Blue November is part of our commitment to social responsibility.
